Abstract :
The phase characteristics of the circular waveguide, taking in an azimuthally magnetized ferrite toroid and a dielectric cylinder of relative permittivity, smaller than that of the ferrite, are counted for the normal TE01 mode. The choice of such a relation between the relative permittivities of the media necessitates the usage of three forms of the structure´s characteristic equation, written through complex confluent hypergeometric and real ordinary or modified Bessel functions. Each of them provides computation of a definite part of the phase portrait of configuration. The analysis reveals that the phase curves are finite for both directions of magnetization, bounded by the cut-off frequencies and by specific envelope lines, determined by certain positive real numbers (L numbers), kindred to the roots of characteristic equation.
