Abstract
Free Space Optical communications can be used for elevated links, even though many factors can affect an optical beam causing an extinction or fluctuation of the received optical signal. This paper brings an analysis of rain influence on elevated links for cases of alone links or diversity configurations of either two millimeter or two free-space optical links. Simulation results of diversity gain statistics of a joint millimeter and optical link are discussed as well.
