Abstract :
This paper presents a demonstration on the possibility of one dimensional Leaky-Wave Antennas (1D LWAs) to shape the broadside-directed radiation pattern. Particularly, the symmetrically fed configuration is studied in detail for the case of a 1D LWA loaded with a Partially Reflective Surface (PRS). A design methodology is proposed in order to vary the main beam width while achieving broadside radiation with high radiation efficiency.
