Abstract
This paper shows the concept of a 122 GHz antenna on an Alumina substrate that is designed for the integration into a plastic package, together with a monolithic millimeter-wave integrated circuit (MMIC). The antennas functional principle which is based on an electromagnetic coupling between two folded dipoles and parasitic patch elements is explained, as well as the measurement setup that is used to verify the antenna performance. Finally, the simulation and measurement results are shown and compared to evaluate the antenna performance.
