Abstract
This paper investigates the fundamental electromagnetic characterization of metallised elastomers at microwave frequencies for antenna applications. Stretchable or flexible antennas will significantly expand stretchable electronics applications both in the communication and biomedical sectors. A flexible dipole and a flexible monopole antenna with self compensation in the perpendicular direction are presented. Simulation and measurement results for their reflected and radiated properties are given.
