Abstract :
In this letter paper is shown that, starting from a proper use of the time modulation, applied to equispaced linear arrays with uniform excitation distribution, it is possible to control the Sidelobe Level of the average radiated power pattern under a - previously stipulated - upper bound and jointly minimizing, the undesired harmonics called Sideband Radiations (SR). This approach, on Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm based, is first used to illustrate our synthesis technique referring to other synthesis cases present in literature and successively, is used to suggest as an innovation the synthesis process applied to the sparse arrays structure. The obtained results open widely promising scenarios.
