Abstract :
A simplified all-dielectric extraordinary transmission (ET) device is designed based on coordinate optical transformation and demonstrated experimentally in this paper. Instead of metamaterials, commercially isotropic dielectrics with dielectric constant value ranging from 2.1 to 6 are adopted to fabricate the ET device. It is shown both numerically and experimentally that the device can provide transmission with the -3 dB bandwidth of more than 1 GHz, in a region which would otherwise be a stop band by the subwavelength aperture in an X-band waveguide. Simulation results demonstrate that the device can work in free space as well.
