Abstract
An isofrequency RF repeater operating at 5 GHz (WIMAX band) using pixeled parasitic elements to enhance the isolation level between the receiving (Rx) and the transmiting (Tx) antennas is presented. The design consists of two back to back active dipole antennas separated by a metallic reflector plane. A set of reconfigurable parasitic pixeled dipole strips are placed between the metallic reflector and the Tx and Rx active dipoles to further enhance the isolation level. The parasitic elements length and position are reconfigured to enhance and recover the perturbed isolation level when different obstacles are introduced while maintaining good impedance matching.
