Abstract :
Miniature microwave devices based on artificial transmission line sections can be implemented on printed circuit boards in the standard surface-mount technology or as multilayer integrated circuits in the low temperature co-fired ceramics technology. Using artificial transmission lines with positive and negative dispersion properties in combination allows designing broadband microwave devices, e.g. phase shifters, directional couplers, and power dividers. Design of broadband digital and analogue phase shifters using artificial transmission line sections is reported. Broadband directional couplers and a reconfigurable power divider are presented as well.
