Abstract
Considering the balance of the antenna performance and ease realization, we introduce a selectively sampled transformation electromagnetics process into the Fresnel lens design. A demonstration hyperbolic lens is converted into a flat one with only a few zones of all-dielectric isotropic materials. We show that such transformed Fresnel lens maintains a broadband performance of the original lens, thus providing a superior alternative to the conventional phase-correcting Fresnel lens which is generally narrow banded.
