Abstract :
This paper presents a square section pyramidal wideband monopole antenna incorporating four loop shaped slots. Each slot is loaded with varactor diodes to provide a tunable notch-band. The experiment shows that the antenna provides at least 10 dB of gain suppression in all horizontal directions in the vertical polarisation. It also yields omni-directional radiation patterns at frequencies throughout the operating band.
