Abstract :
This paper presents a concept of a broadband electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure that can be used for antenna applications. The design is derived from cascading uniform EBG structures [4] and is validated by using it with a broadband sinuous antenna. The purpose of this paper is to show the potential of the broadband EBG (progressive EBG) structure with a broadband antenna. The performance of the antenna with the progressive EBG is compared with that of a uniform EBG.
