Abstract :
In this paper, a quantitative and predictive evaluation is presented, to assess the responses observed in a procedure intended for measuring internal thermal properties, from biological tissues, in a rigorously non-invasive way. A set of multi-echo ultrasonic traces is generated, trying to simulate resulting signal traces from a typical inspection of biological tissues. Distinct conditions to generate them are considered for evaluating specific parameters on the response of a parametric power spectral density (PSD) estimation. It is applied to those traces, as a non-invasive procedure to measure properties that, in a real clinic case, could be related, well to tissue temperature changes, or well with other clinical parameters indicative of possible infectious diseases. Discussion about analysis results provides some conclusion under different adverse situation.
