Abstract :
As one of the major coal consumption and energy-hungry industries, steel industry has emitted large quantities of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. In order to save energy and reduce carbon emission in steel industry, a researching on the CO2 emission of a typical steel factory which is one of Chinese largest steel production plant has been carried out, the CO2 reduction potentials and its reduction measures has been also assessed. According to the production process of the steel industry, a proper mathematic model was established, based on the analysis of the energy balance tables, the total CO2 emission quantity of each year was calculated as well the unit energy consumption according to crude steel was analyzed.
