Abstract
This paper presents a new 3-phase sinusoidal PWM generator implemented into a low cost FPGA. The generator allows zero sequence insertion of various signals, extending the power supply usage of the generated signals when it is used for control of the voltage source inverters. The system is designed by using the System Generator tool from Matlab Simulink environment. It is validated by simulation, then synthesized and implemented using a Spartan-3E FPGA chip. Experimental results are provided to prove the correct functioning and design performance in terms of occupied resources and achieved speed is presented.
