Abstract
Standing wave striations at frequencies below 400 kHz are observed in DC H2 microplasma discharges at pressures up to 7.8 atm. Striations are observable in low-current (1-5 mA) discharges, with a passively stabilized external circuit. Striation spacing ranges from 17 to 34 μm, with higher pressure and lower current producing smaller spacing. These striations indicate the continued applicability of Knudsen (Kn) numberbased scaling laws over several orders of magnitude in pressure.
