Abstract :
Thinning for fingerprint image is an important part of fingerprint image preprocessing. Effective thinning can reduce the time of subsequent processing and the number of false minutia. In this paper, a superior fingerprint thinning method based on HMT is proposed. Not only did we compare experimental results of this method with that of skeletal method by vision, but also we make the quantitative analysis of number of false minutiae. Therefore the fine effect is proved.
