The detailed consideration of saliency-based visual attention model

In this paper the consideration of saliency-based visual attention models, particularly Itti´s model is given. The detailed operating description of each building block in the biologically inspired model architecture is explored here. There are shown benefits and limitations, open questions, some hypotheses of the future advance of this approach.
