SNMP based Grid infrastructure monitoring system

When we are talking about monitoring in IP based systems, more often than not, we are talking about systems based primarily on SNMP standard coupled with different auxiliary technologies when needed. On the other hand, monitoring in Grid environment is far from such level of standardization and typically consists of several loosely connected components, either custom made or adapted for Grid use. This paper presents a solution for monitoring of resources and services in gLite based computing Grids through the use of SNMP thus enabling integration in standard and widely used network monitoring systems.
