Abstract :
Regional economic growth is influenced by various factors. Different regions in China vary greatly from each other in terms of economic level, which has certain impact on economic growth. The energy industrial structure is one of the main reasons for the economic disparities of various regions in China. The thesis conducts a comprehensive assessment on the advantages and disadvantages of energy industrial structure in different regions of China, as well as the competitiveness based on Shift-Share Analysis, and makes use of the dynamic panel to carry out practical analysis of the relationship between China´s energy industrial structural adjustment and economic growth from 1999 to 2010. The results have shown that energy industry has certain competitive advantage, but different provinces differ greatly in energy industrial structure. For some of them with comparatively small energy industry and lacking of competitiveness, their energy industry is at a disadvantage. Thus, energy industrial structural adjustment is conducive to economic growth, and it is an effective way to promote economic growth via those polices which suit the local energy industrial structure.
