Abstract :
This research paper deals with the implementation of modern barcode systems supported by mobile technology. As much as barcoding, has grown to have many applications in retail trade and stores selling consumer goods, there is still space for improvement of business processes in specific business systems. If implemented in the large production systems as a support to ERP systems, it can make a difference in the business processes, especially in terms of improving sales processes through improvement of warehouse processes. Timely and updated information on the current state of stocks or shipping schedule are prerequisite to competitiveness in the global trade. We investigated the problems, solutions and benefits of improvement of warehouse processes by implementing mobile barcode systems in a medium-sized wholesaler and a large enterprise engaged in metal manufacturing industry with a specific small-scale production.
