Abstract :
This paper presents the design of the robust performance of a boiler combustion system with the perturbations of the controlled members. It can be used to solve the robustness problems, which can´t be done by the conventional H∞ robust performance designs. This paper points out the disadvantages of H∞ design. It is proposed that the design of the robust performance can be formulated as a μ -synthesis problem, if the uncertainty weighting function and the performance weighting function are revised appropriately. The selections of the weighting functions are studied and the μ -synthesis robust PI controller is solved. The analysis and simulation results show that the robust performance of the μ -synthesis robust control system is better than the conventional H∞ robust control system. The simulation results indicate that the proposed μ -synthesis design can improve the system robustness.
