Abstract :
In this paper, we study the problem of adaptive sampled-data control for a class of chaotic systems and present a systematic procedure for the design of the controller. We firstly design an adaptive continuous-time controller by using the backstepping method. In the following, the zero-hold and Euler methods are employed to discretize the adaptive continuous-time controller. Finally, we obtain adaptive sampled-data controller after choosing an appropriate sampling period. The paper proves that the proposed adaptive sampled-data controller can guarantee that the states of the controlled continuous-time chaotic system are convergent to an arbitrarily small neighborhood around the equilibrium point by choosing appropriate parameters and a sampling period. An example applied to the modified Chua´s circuit shows that the designed adaptive sampled-data controller can achieve favorable performance.
