Abstract :
Sub-control-area division is an important step in regional traffic signal control system application and generally accomplished by using the distance between different nodes and traffic flow as indexes. It is obviously uncertain and lack of theoretical foundation. Considering the free-scale characteristics of traffic network, in this paper, node degree, node betweeness and high peak hour traffic flow are selected as indexes for traffic node importance assessment firstly. Then C-Means clustering method is applied to hub nodes selection and hub node relative importance used for traffic signal control sub-area division. Moreover, a regional urban network including almost fifty nodes around Chang´an Street in Beijing, China is used as trail area. Data result shows when clustering number is 3 and relative importance index is above 10-1, sub-control-area division of urban traffic weighted complex network is reasonable.
