Abstract :
It is an important aspect of wavelet application that wavelet transform is used for signal compression, and the series of compactly supported orthogonal wavelet has outstanding local properties. This paper uses the method which combines the compactly supported orthogonal wavelet db4 with threshold method of minimax theorem to compress power quality disturbance signals. The concrete operation process and the program flow are given, and the problems of selecting wavelet and choosing threshold are also mainly discussed. The MATLAB simulation shows the proposed method can achieve a good compression effect through the proper choice of decomposition layer.
