Abstract :
The Eleventh Five-Year Plan has been fully fulfilled and achieved much progress in industrial economic benefits and competitiveness. To probe into the effects of the industrial structure on the industrial economy in Wuhan so as to provide the decision consultation for the further development of Wuhan industry, the paper chooses the relative data of Wuhan industry from 2005 to 2009 and makes a deep study of the industrial structural contribution to Wuhan economic increase, the growth tendency of each industry and its competitive advantages by adopting the shift-share method (SSM). Finally, the paper draws conclusions that the existent industries in Wuhan have strong competitive forces, but that grave problems exist in their structure, which may block the further development of the industries. Besides, several emerging industries as new energy and environmental protection can´t be neglected.
