Abstract :
A series of new Michael addition products were synthesized by the condensation reaction of chalcones with fluorene in a boiling water bath using alkaline ionic liquids as dual solvent and catalyst. The advantages of this procedure were simple protocol, high yields. The alkaline ionic liquid is environmental friendly and could be reused, the structures of the products were characterized by IR, H NMR, MS and elemental analysis, The crystal structure of 3a was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
