Abstract :
We design a centralized wireless positioning system (CWPS) based on ZigBee and compare it to the ordinary distributed wireless positioning system (DWPS). The positioning function is mainly accomplished by blind nodes in the DWPS, while in the CWPS, a centralized processing method is adopted and the majority of work is accomplished on a PC server. As a result, the CWPS has much lower power consumption and quicker positioning speed, while the positioning accuracy is not reduced.
