Abstract :
In this paper, an infrared image enhancement algorithm based on nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) and adaptive threshold is proposed. The enhancement is done in the transform domain. At first, coefficients in different scales and different directions are obtained by image decomposition using the nonsubsampled contourlet transform. And then, filter thresholds and enhancement functions are adaptively estimated according as these coefficients. Finally, image enhancement is implemented by reconstruction of these enhanced coefficients. The experiment results indicate that the algorithm proposed in this paper can get better effects compared with other algorithms.
