Abstract :
We are developing the control algorithms to apply to the power plants because the distributed control system of Korean 500MW class coal-fired power plants are operated over their lifetime so they need to be retrofitted. We finished designing the algorithm and coding them suitably to hardware which are being developed. The simulator was already made to verify the reliability of the algorithms and the simulation tests of some algorithms are being made and their results were satisfactory. The unit loop tests are being made for each unit equipment algorithm. After the unit loop tests are finished, total operation tests will be made with all algorithms together. When the verification through all tests is finished, algorithms with hardware will be scheduled to be installed and operated in actual power plant. This research result will contribute to the safe operation of the deteriorated power plant and Korean electric power supply. The entire processes and results for the development are written for the example of boiler primary air control algorithm out of all algorithms in this paper.
