Abstract
We demonstrated Ag/SiO2 metallic disk structure can be applied as an efficient narrow stop band filter in the IR region. The absorption spectra of such structure are investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The metallic disk exhibits only one significant localized surface plasmon polariton mode for both TM and TE polarizations simultaneously which can give an ultrahigh immunity to incident angles and polarization direction.
