Abstract :
Silicon-chalcogenide slot waveguide Raman amplifier (SCSRA) is investigated as a free-carrier absorption suppression mechanism, eliminating the problematic gain saturation in silicon Raman amplifier. SCSRA also displays superior device miniaturization capability and wide linear amplification range.
