Abstract :
We study the feasibility of applying the optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA) on passive optical network (PON) by computer simulation. We show the minimum transmitted peak powers, bandwidths of low-pass filter (LPF), and the maximum reaches of the 2, 4, and 8 subscribers that can achieve the bit error rate (BER) smaller than 10-9, when the data rate of the system is 1.25 Gbps per subscriber.
