Abstract :
We investigate the modal characteristics of cladding modes in abrupt-tapered Mach-Zehnder interferometers by etching the phase shifter and abrupt tapers to reduce cladding diameter and to lead to wavelength-shift and variations of extinction ratio, respectively.
