            Abstract :
The R&D (Research and Development) investment in China has increased significantly and the proportion of the industrial investments in R&D activities compared with national R&D investments has increased rapidly. R&D activities play a crucial role in enhancing the ability of companies to achieve rapid and sustainable growth. To investigate the effectiveness of these R&D investments, we make use of the DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) models to evaluate the efficiency of R&D investments using Data from 1991 to 2008. Through analyzing the input and output by DEA approach, we can draw the conclusion that the efficiency of the R&D resources allocation is relatively low which presented the tendency firstly rise then fall. The result of the present work implied that only enhancing efficiency of the R&D resources allocation, can make our country into the innovation nation.
