  • Abstract
The paper investigates the Space Vector Modulation (SVM) technique applied in Voltage Source Converter (VSC) supplying Ultrahigh Speed Induction Machine (USIM). Two different sampling techniques, the Regular Sampled (RS) and the Naturally Sampled (NS) are investigated by simulations and tests. It was found that subharmonic flux with considerable amplitudes can be generated in USIM, which could lead to the damage of the USIM. The paper focuses on the generation of subharmonics. A digitally implemented NS-SVM algorithm is also introduced in the paper.
