  • Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach for a power supply, which generates bipolar pulsed output voltages up to 10 kV with extremely fast voltage slopes and high repetition rates. It is based on a solid state Marx topology. The output voltage and current of the power supply are adapted for the operation with Dielectric Barrier Discharge. As switching elements MOSFETs are used with a transformer isolated gate drive circuit. The influence of parasitic capacitances to ground is discussed. A prototype and measurements are presented to validate the theoretical considerations.
