            Abstract : 
This paper deals with traction converter with medium-frequency transformer for new generation of ac catenary fed suburban units and locomotives. It introduces proposed vector control of primary cascaded voltage-source active rectifiers. Behaviour of designed control is analyzed by both simulations and experiments made on developed laboratory traction converter prototype.
