Abstract
This paper deals with the analysis and implementation of a low cost calorimetric setup, suitable for loss measurements in power electronic converters, for power ratings up to 30W. Main component of the device is an open Dewar vessel. A proper calibration method is suggested and the several error factors are spotted, so as to achieve an overall accuracy of 2%. Application examples are demonstrated with loss measurements on magnetic components.
