Abstract :
In this paper a novel topology for an unipolar arbitrary voltage source for high power Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation Systems is presented. The maximal output voltage is 10 kV and a maximal output current of 30 kA can be provided for a duration of 20 ms with a maximal current gradient of 200 A/μs. The system enables in-depth research and future developments of circuit breakers for future multi-point DC transmission systems.
