Abstract :
Background segmentation is the key step in image processing. The greenness method can satisfy the request of background segmentation of corn crops. Aiming at the different distribution of corn seedling stage in the field, segmentation operator of the greenness method is based on the ratios of R, G and B pixels in the total pixels. By researching on clear and unclear image of distribution between background and vegetation, the segmentation edge is found. By simulation, the greenness method can successfully divide image into background and vegetation.
