            Abstract : 
A switched reluctance motor drive system is presented, and this system has the characteristics of simple construction and reliable performance. It is designed based on 4 phase, 8/6 pole and 5.5 KW switched reluctance motor. TMS320F240 is used as the main controlling unit. A new type of power circuit that includes at least switching components is applied in the power converter and IGBT is used as the main power switching component. A control scheme of the low-speed fixed angle current chopping and high-speed variable angle voltage chopping is applied. Experimental results are given to verify the stability and reliability of the proposed system. The performance of speed regulation is satisfactory.
