Abstract :
This paper studied the output characteristics of the three GaAs solar cells in the condition of following sun. Then we established the simulation model of the solar cells in Matlab2009b/Simulink. The simulation results show that GaAs solar cell has good I-U output characteristics under spotlights. The highlight intensity lead to solar cells with the narrow width, short-circuit current (ISC) and output power increasing, but at the same time depletion layer compound rate changed, open voltage (UOC) reduced, and restricted the output power of array. At the same time the solar array´s temperature and resistance increases in series. The temperature of the array has a lot of negative effects to its output power, so this paper used the compulsory cooling way to ensure that the output of the panels efficiency.
