Abstract :
This paper deals with operational issues regarding nuclear power plant investments in Hungary. In the paper first the role of nuclear energetics is reviewed in the Hungarian power system. Then a model was described which was created to make the analyses. It is able to forecast the average hourly gross loads. Then the capacity demands of the power plants are examined. Based on these values the analysis was made, which gave useful results. The method and review were described when and how will the new nuclear power plant units have to operate on daily following load, what the load factor of the new units will be and when there excess capacities will be in excess of domestic loads.
