Abstract :
Extended manufacturing resource involving all kinds of resources passing through the product lifecycle, are diversified, complex, weak online automation and remote control. It is supposed to be carefully explored before conceiving a Manufacturing Grid. Taken a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) (between resource providers and consumers) Semantic Manufacturing Grid as the background scene, this paper classifies manufacturing resources into six cell categories based on the types and characteristics analysis of them and for the purpose of supporting inter organizational collaborative manufacturing. Then a multi granularity resource network model is fabricated, from which a multi granularity WSRF service set is derived. The structure of the resource cell and the service along with their relationship are formalized by ontology. The model and method was employed in a P2PSMG prototype system which then verified their feasibility.
