Abstract :
China´s Plant Extracts Industry (PEI) is growing fast and becoming a new strategic industry, which has a promising future. Based on ecological processes of plant extracts products, an application of product life cycle design is the best way of system design evaluation for building an environmentally friendly plant extract industry. The importance lies in several ways including the sustainable utilization of plant resources, heavy metals and pesticide residues, microbial pollution control, the promotion of market access for high-end products. The key to enhance life cycle assessment (LCA) needed to be resolved by establishing and improving PEI´s LCA database.
