Abstract :
With the theory of GO and the simulation of sea surface, the transmission characteristic for a laser beam transmitting through rough sea surface are simulated and analyzed. The influences of calm sea surface and rough sea surface on the laser transmittance are calculated respectively. The relations of the transmittance with incidence angle are derived for rough sea surface at different wind speed. It is shown that the attenuation induced by rough sea surface is severe at large-angles, especially, for rougher sea surface at stronger wind, and has to be taken into account for the communication link from air to water or from water to air.
