Abstract :
In this paper a double-negative (DNG) medium utilizing all-dielectric square particles arranged periodically inside a host medium is designed and fabricated. The negative permittivity and permeability are achieved by electric and magnetic resonant modes. A full wave simulation based on CST is applied to comprehensively obtain the physical insights of dielectric resonators. Near-field patterns are plotted to illustrate the development of electric and magnetic dipole fields. Increasing the couplings among the squares by bringing them closer to each other will result in a larger bandwidth. The homogeneous structure consisting of dielectric square embedded in a negative permittivity host medium provides a wider material bandwidth.
