Abstract :
A novel elliptical monopole antenna operation at UWB is proposed and fabricated, the antenna consists of an elliptical radiator with central aperture and a slotted ground plane, it is fed by microstrip line. The matched bandwidth can be broadened by changing the size of the aperture and the slot. The simulated and measured results show the antenna has a high ultra-wide band capability, its impedance bandwidth (S11<;-10dB) covers from 1.65~13.15GHz,Its size is small and simple in structure, so the fabrication is easy, the antenna can be applied for UWB wireless communication with short distance.
