Abstract :
A compact planar wideband ring antenna with 5.5 GHz WiMAX band-notched characteristics is proposed in this paper. It has small volume (30 × 35 × 0.8 mm3) and low fabrication lost. With the use of two rings radiating element and a modified ground plane, the proposed antenna possesses a wide impedance bandwidth (S11<; -10 dB) from 2.27 GHz to 6.68 GHz. Moreover, the band-rejected filtering characteristic in 5.5 GHz WiMAX band and omni-directional H-plane radiation patterns are obtained.
